Okay, first off, I'd like to say I've had two instant noodle dishes with liquid seasoning... for five years. Untouched, dusty as hell. However I wasn't aware of this when I opened the seasoning packet. But I certainly learned my lesson when goo came out! Gack. But at least the noodles and dried veggies are okay. Just.. wow, Jules.

All right, time for an update.

This semester consists of four classes: health and wellness, astronomy, archaeology, and precalculus.
All the professors are pretty awesome. My health teacher last semester was just terrible at teaching, and the online crap she made us do was so impossible to find. But this go-round, the teacher is really nice, good at what she does, and helpful/supportive.

My astronomy professor is the same guy who taught "intelligent life in the universe" last semester. He's cool, but the lecture can really get draggy at times. I always think back to good ol' Captain Physics from high school, and wish that he was there teaching instead. But it's all good. c:

I also have an astronomy lab class, but the professor there is a different one, a woman with an accent of some sort. It's so difficult to understand her at times, and at the same time, it's not very fun being outside in the freezing cold for the better part of an hour. The first lab just involved sitting in a classroom, though, learning each other's names (yes, it still happens in college, if the class size is small enough) and learning about some basic stars. But the second lab had us outside on a cold, clear night, looking at one star in particular: Mintaka. If you've seen the constellation Orion, you'll know about his belt -- it's the star on the right of his belt that we looked at. We had to calculate the field of view and how quickly it appeared to move out of the telescope lens. Meh. But she (the professor) also pointed out the Pleiades, a nearby star cluster. Then she used a really powerful laser pointer (damn, I want one like hers) to point out each star in the Winter Circle. One of Orion's stars, Rigel (bottom-right), is also a part of that. And then I learned about Betelgeuse. Lol, beetle juice. Apparently we may see it go supernova soon. Maybe.

Okay, archaeology. It's about Italy, which is cool, but I prefer stuff about Mesopotamia. But the professor is really awesome, and she's such a sweet lady. She makes an already interesting subject even more interesting! I could have signed up to go on an archaeological dig trip to Italy, but alas, not this semester. I need to get my grades up a little more before it becomes an option with my parents. It's understandable, though. :3

All right, and then there's precalculus. So, last semester I had calculus, but I didn't pass it. Now, before that class (which the school automatically signed me up for), I'd had no equivalent of precalculus. I had a functions-and0factoring-type class, but not specifically precalculus! So... this go-round I'll be taking precalc in the hopes of succeeding with a calc retake.

But unless I can take summer classes at home, I won't become a sophomore on time. Sadface.

But enough of that -- time for other news! My boyfriend has been offered a job opportunity as a video game designer! Whoo-hoo! I wish opportunity would come knocking at my door once in a while.. haha. But best of luck to him and such!~

I still don't have a job. But it'll be great when I get one!

I kind of hate the rule of no incense in the dorms. It *seriously* hinders my ability to perform rituals and practice my spirituality. I mean, candles I can understand. They're easily tipped over and could cause major trouble if that happened. But.. incense? Really!? The worst that could do is maybe singe an unnoticeable spot in the carpet or some shit. Maybe it would set off the smoke alarm, but that's never happened in my house before. Ever. Or anywhere else, for that matter. Incense is practically hazard-free. And of course, I can't burn it outside, either. Guh. At this rate, I'll never complete the "Year and a Day" Wicca book. Shoot, it's bad enough that I had to start the thing over, after thirty on-and-off days of using it. If I happen to get an apartment, which is unlikely, then maybe it'll work out. But hell, what if the apartment doesn't allow it, either!? Rage!

...Ahem. Anyway. I'll be closing this for now. Just one last note, though, sorry for not updating my gallery often. I just haven't been drawing or inking (or colouring, as my computer is being slowed down by all the screenshots I've been taking -- but that's another story) lately, and on top of that, my room is a mess again. I seriously hate maintenance. But oh well. Ta-ta!

Buahaha! I'm also in astronomy! We get to sit inside the planetarium at our school and our teacher pulls up the stars. I can identify so many things now, including most of the winter circle :) Did you know that next to Betelgeuse there's a star called "Bellatrix?" Loll. And the three stars in Orion's belt are Almolom, Mintaka and Almatak... don't quote me on the spelling or the order... my friend and I remember them because they sound like "omelette, mint talking, omelette talking."
